The actual image which was my inspiration for michelle’s painting was taken at her ranch, down the alley
performance horses just outside of madisonville, texas.
I was born in the agricultural and farming area of South-east South Dakota near
the town of Tabor, South Dakota. Tabor is a beautiful small town located south
of Sioux Falls and along the banks of the mighty Missouri River. My Dad spent his
time between our ranch and rodeoing while my Mom showed horses. The
western way of life was in bred in my life and I began my rodeo career when I
was a freshman at high school. I was still young when I began training horses and
reapplying the knowledge and skills from my parents.
I explored numerous locations to set up my own ranch in the south and I found a
beautiful 12 acre ranch just outside of Madisonville, Texas. It was here that I
established my dream and began my own special horse training business which I
named Down the Alley Performance Horses. I board, train and run a herd of
horses anywhere from 8 to 28 horses on any given day along with my own
horses.
Besides managing my business, I still ride in events across the state and travel out
of state when I can. My list of awards are extensive and I will continue to push
myself hard to represent the western way of life.
