alisha dryden - south dakota
I grew up in Minnesota where I enjoyed spending my time at both of my
grandparents’ farms. Fortunate enough for me, both sets of grandparents had
horses. On the back of a horse was my favorite place to be.
Growing up I participated in 4H, Little Britches Rodeos, High School Rodeos and
went on to attend college at South Dakota State University. I college rodeoed for
the SDSU Jackrabbits.
During my college years, I also got my Women’s Professional Rodeo Association card
and competed in rodeos in the Badlands circuit.
After college, I moved out to western South Dakota with my husband to pursue
my teaching career, rodeo, and raising performance horses, cattle, and our two awesome
children. I feel fortunate to be able to raise my children here where we live in South
Dakota and immersed in the western lifestyle.
Alisha and her husband Jobie, own the Dryden Ranch outside of Hot Springs,
South Dakota.

WHY I BELIEVE
The NHSRA promotes the sport of rodeo for our young aspiring cowboys and cowgirls and delivers a positive
image alonge with family bonding. They are a group that works hard to preserve the Western heritage. They also
have the highest regard for livestock and continuing education for our young folk.
Our Ranch is located near Oelrichs and just south of Hot
Springs. We raise our prize horses and will continue to
build our herd of cattle.
alisha and her favorite horse, mouse
I have got to say that my most favorite horse that I’ve ever had the privilege of competing on is my mare, Mouse. When I first got
her in high school , she was what you could call an extremely dangerous, gate sour, pole bending horse who would never make a
competitive barrel horse. A long story short, Mouse and I formed a very strong and special bond that led to some of my most
favorite memories and accomplishments. Mouse and I won the High School State Championship in both barrels and poles, had a
successful college rodeo career. Mouse went on to carry me to a couple of my first WPRA (Women’s Professional Rodeo
Asssociation) wins. Mouse is now 25 years old. She is happily retired here at our ranch where I am raising and training a few of her
offspring.
